Japan literaly known as nippon or nihon means the "origin of sun" commonly meaning the land of rising sun.it is known so because it is said that sun rises in east and seta is west and we all know that japan is located to eastern most part relative to china.hence it is said that sun first rises in japan in the east and sets in china in the west........!!
